Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has successfully extended its 5G and 4G coverage to Phu Makua, a strategic area on the Thai-Cambodian border, to support government and military operations. The company achieved this by adjusting the antenna tilt of existing base stations at Pha Mo I Daeng in Sisaket Province. This measure provides officers in the area with access to True’s network for communication. True Corporation is now coordinating with the military and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to survey and plan the permanent installation of a new mobile tower at Phu Makua to enhance communication infrastructure in the long term.

To urgently establish connectivity, True utilized its existing infrastructure at Pha Mo I Daeng. The company redirected transmissions using the low-band 700 MHz for long-distance 5G/4G coverage and the mid-band 2100 MHz to reinforce 4G/3G services across the high-altitude terrain. This approach was implemented to ensure continuous voice and data services for security missions as requested by the government, while also adhering to NBTC regulations for mobile towers in border regions.

For a more sustainable solution, True is collaborating with government agencies, the military, and the NBTC to conduct a joint survey of the area. The goal is to plan for a new, permanent mobile tower at Phu Makua, aligning with the government’s request to upgrade digital communications infrastructure in border areas.

Mr. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology and Information Security Officer of True Corporation, stated, “True remains committed to supporting government officers and military operations with high-performance and reliable network capabilities to ensure national security missions operate efficiently. The connectivity from the Pha Mo I Daeng tower to Phu Makua represents urgent specialized support, and we are strengthening cooperation with government agencies, the military, and NBTC to deploy sustainable mobile towers at Phu Makua for enhanced digital communications.”

The company has also confirmed its strict compliance with NBTC measures for controlling base stations in border areas. This includes regulations on tower removal, equipment dismantling, and height reduction to prevent signals from extending beyond Thailand’s borders. Additionally, True has deployed an AI-powered monitoring system, known as AI-CODC (Cell Outage Detection & Compensation), which uses artificial intelligence to automatically adjust nearby stations to compensate for any network malfunctions. This self-healing feature helps maintain continuous service and minimizes risks for officers working in conflict-prone border regions.
