QSNCC Becomes First ASEAN Convention Center to Earn ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification Ahead of 2026 IMF-World Bank Meetings

Brickinfo News Agency – Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS), becoming the first convention venue in the ASEAN region to secure this accreditation. The certification confirms the venue’s compliance with international data security benchmarks as it prepares to host high-profile global gatherings, including the upcoming 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings scheduled for October 12–18, 2026.

Audited and issued by BSI Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard establishes formal requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management framework. The assessment evaluates organizational safeguards across three core pillars: confidentiality, data integrity, and system availability, alongside structured risk assessment protocols and technical controls.

At QSNCC, the certified scope encompasses vital digital infrastructure, including the facility’s on-site data center, core operational IT networks, identity and access management systems, and customer-facing wired and wireless network services. These systems support enterprise-level network demand and data handling required by international organizers and visiting delegations.

Surapol Utintu, Chief Executive Officer of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, stated that technology and connectivity serve as central operational components for international conferences. He noted that achieving the standard verifies the resilience of the venue’s technical infrastructure, adding that comprehensive information security involves integrating personnel, operational processes, and physical technology to ensure continuous uptime and prevent data compromise.

The IT infrastructure accreditation directly supports large-scale operations for the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings, where thousands of international delegates require secure, continuous connectivity and strict digital privacy controls. In addition to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, QSNCC holds several management certifications, including ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 22000 for food safety, ISO 20121 for event sustainability management, and ISO 14064-1 for greenhouse gas emissions quantification and reporting.
