Changan Unveils Global Strategy and New Hybrid Tech at Auto China 2026
Brickinfo News Agency – Changan Group has transitioned its international strategy from simple exports to deep-rooted local operations with the launch of “Vast Ocean Plan 2.0” at Auto China 2026. The updated roadmap sets an ambitious target of 1.5 million overseas vehicle sales by 2030, supported by the debut of the BlueCore Hybrid system in flagship models like the fourth-generation EADO and CS75 PLUS. This shift marks a significant move by the Chinese automaker to solidify its presence in global markets, including Southeast Asia, through localized manufacturing and technological integration.
The new “Vast Ocean Plan 2.0” evolves Changan’s “1+4+4+5” strategic framework, aiming for five doubling goals by the end of the decade. Following a successful 2025—which saw 637,000 overseas sales across 118 countries—the group is now focusing on seven key upgrades: technology, product, brand, partnership models, investment, service, and team localization. The goal is to move beyond being a trade-led exporter to becoming a fully integrated global entity involved in local production and ESG-focused sustainability.
“Today, we are launching Vast Ocean Plan 2.0 with greater determination and a more open mindset,” said Zhao Fei, General Manager of Changan Group. “We will continue to follow our core principles—long-term development, localization, systematization, and responsible ESG practices—while evolving from an export-driven model to an integrated global operation spanning manufacturing, trade, investment, services, and sustainability.”
Technological advancement remains at the forefront of this expansion. Changan introduced its BlueCore Hybrid technology, featuring the iDE-H intelligent architecture designed for high fuel efficiency and performance. Testing for the fourth-generation EADO BlueCore Hybrid revealed fuel consumption as low as 1.6 L/100 km under specific conditions, with a comprehensive range reaching 1,500 km. Meanwhile, the CS75 PLUS SUV variant focuses on ride stability, incorporating a CDC continuous damping suspension to appeal to international SUV buyers.
In addition to passenger vehicles, the group showcased the Robovan by CHANGAN KAICHENG, an unmanned logistics vehicle built on the SDA architecture. Designed for autonomous last-mile delivery, the Robovan features dual-redundant systems for safety in mixed-traffic environments. This commercial innovation is being developed in strategic cooperation with JD Logistics for large-scale application, signaling Changan’s intent to capture the growing automated delivery market alongside its traditional automotive sectors.
The presentation also highlighted Changan’s premium and electric sub-brands. AVATR debuted its “Vision Car” VISION XPECTRA, showcasing a new design language for the luxury segment, while the DEEPAL brand presented a six-model lineup, including the new L06 REEV. By diversifying its portfolio across internal combustion, hybrid, and new energy vehicles, Changan aims to secure a top 10 position among global brands in markets spanning the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia.
