AI-Driven Economy

Brickinfo News Agency – The Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT) has officially concluded the fifth season of the Super AI Engineer program while simultaneously launching Season 6, marking a significant step in scaling Thailand’s AI-driven economy. The initiative, which recently held its transition ceremony at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), aims to transform the national workforce by cultivating high-level technical skills and creating new career pathways in artificial intelligence through hands-on industry collaboration.

The program has established itself as a cornerstone for AI talent development in Thailand, focusing on the concept of Digital Workforce Transformation. Over the past five years, the initiative has produced a steady stream of AI Engineers, Innovators, and Researchers who have integrated into various industrial sectors. This year, the focus shifts toward providing “high-level skills and high-income opportunities,” ensuring that Thai citizens can compete effectively as global technology rapidly evolves and disrupts traditional business models.

Assistant Professor Dr. Nongnuch Ketui, Head of the Super AI Engineer Program and Vice President of AIAT, highlighted the program’s substantial growth and impact during the Season 5 wrap-up. “The Super AI Engineer program serves as a learning platform that provides individuals from diverse disciplines with the opportunity to develop intensive AI skills through practical learning and engagement with real-world industry challenges,” she stated.

Dr. Nongnuch noted that Season 5 alone attracted 12,865 applicants, contributing to a cumulative total of over 45,800 participants across all seasons, with 1,224 individuals reaching the program’s most advanced level.

In addition to technical training, the program is building a sustainable AI ecosystem through a structured competency framework. Dr. Thepchai Sapnithi, President of the AIAT, emphasized the long-term vision of the initiative, noting, “This program does not merely focus on providing AI training; it also builds a continuous learning ecosystem through the concepts of AI Competency and Credit Bank, enabling learners to accumulate skills, knowledge, and experience.” This system allows participants to document their progress and specialize over time, bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements.

The transition to Season 6 introduces a curriculum designed to balance Hard Skills and Soft Skills, ranging from foundational AI knowledge to complex model development. Associate Professor Dr. Sarana Nuchanong, who oversees the AI Researcher group, stressed the importance of synergy during a panel discussion, stating, “The development of AI research in Thailand must be closely connected across academia, industry, and policy sectors in order to produce research that can be applied in practice and generate long-term economic and social impact.”

Super AI Engineer Season 6 is now open to the public, offering free participation regardless of age, gender, or previous background in technology. The program is structured to funnel high-potential candidates directly into employment opportunities within technology companies and innovation-driven organizations. By removing barriers to entry, the AIAT aims to broaden the reach of digital education and solidify Thailand’s position in the emerging AI-driven economy.
