Brickinfo News Agency – Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has once again been designated a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for CSP 5G RAN Infrastructure Solutions for the fifth consecutive year. The 2025 report, released on September 10, 2025, specifically positioned Ericsson highest for its Ability to Execute, based on Gartner’s independent assessment of vendors providing 5G radio access network (RAN) infrastructure for Communications Service Providers (CSPs). This recognition highlights the company’s established presence and ongoing development in the global 5G market, where Ericsson networks currently carry approximately half of the world’s mobile 5G traffic outside China.

The evaluation in the Gartner Magic Quadrant assesses vendors across two primary indices: Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. Ericsson’s highest ranking in the latter category underscores its proven performance in delivering and supporting its 5G solutions. This consistent leadership position is further supported by Ericsson’s broad global deployment footprint, which includes 187 live 5G networks in 78 countries, with more than 40 being 5G Standalone networks.

Ericsson’s Executive Vice President and Head of Networks, Per Narvinger, commented on the repeated recognition, stating: “Being recognized as a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for five consecutive years is, for us, a reflection of our ongoing efforts to support customers as their needs evolve. We believe this continued recognition isn’t just about pushing the boundaries of technology, it’s about helping service providers build the networks of the future. At Ericsson, we’re always working to bring new ideas to life and deliver on our promises, making sure our customers are ready for whatever comes next.”

The company continues to advance its 5G RAN portfolio, which encompasses the Ericsson Radio System, Cloud RAN, and 5G Transport, alongside professional services. Recent product expansions, such as the February launch of RAN Connect—radios, antennas, and open fronthaul solutions—aim to assist CSPs in developing high-performing, programmable networks. Furthermore, software enhancements include intent-based automation and AI-powered features within the 5G Advanced suite, such as Automated Energy Saver and AI-native Link Adaptation, which are designed to improve efficiency and overall network performance.

In addition to its technical and market leadership, Ericsson announced that it achieved its portfolio sustainability targets for 2025 six months ahead of schedule. Efforts to reduce environmental impact and support customers’ cost and Net Zero goals include cutting energy consumption in new radio base stations by 40 percent compared to 2021 levels and decreasing supply chain emissions by lowering product weight by 45 percent against 2020 benchmarks. Ericsson has also been independently recognized as a leader for the fifth straight year in the Frost & Sullivan’s Frost Radar: 5G Network Infrastructure, 2025 report and secured the highest ranking in the Omdia Market Landscape RAN Vendors report for 2025.
