True Corporation Enhances Mobile Coverage for Thai Military Operations at Phu Makua
Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has successfully activated new mobile base stations at Central and Upper Phu Makua, a strategic area where the Thai military operates. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Thai military and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), provides 5G, 4G, and 3G services to a location that previously had no mobile signal. The enhanced connectivity is intended to support the communication needs of government agencies and military forces engaged in national security missions.
The deployment was expedited following a request from government agencies to improve communication for security missions. The new network is designed to support various military operations, including communication between units, real-time reporting, and the transmission of data such as images and videos. The company also confirmed its strict compliance with NBTC regulations to prevent signals from extending beyond the country’s borders.
Mr. Chakkrit Urairat, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at True Corporation, stated, “We have provided full support to the Thai military in maintaining border security. After coordinating with the military and the NBTC regarding the lack of mobile signal coverage at Phu Makua, our team conducted joint area surveys with government agencies and worked with the Provincial Electricity Authority to install mobile signal equipment on electrical poles in the Phu Makua area.” He added that the network’s coverage is restricted to areas where Thai military forces are stationed to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized signal usage.
Mr. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology and Information Security Officer of True Corporation, said, “We have expanded mobile network coverage to support government agencies and military operations at Phu Makua by installing new base stations using the 700 MHz and 900 MHz bands. These stations deliver 5G, 4G, and 3G services with coverage specifically designated for areas where officers are stationed, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.”
In addition to the new installations, True Corporation previously provided urgent signal support by adjusting transmission directions from existing base stations at Pha Mo I Daeng toward Phu Makua. The company utilized the 700 MHz band for long-distance 5G and 4G propagation, while the 2100 MHz band was used to provide 4G and 3G coverage in the high-altitude terrain. Furthermore, for towers near the Thai-Cambodia border, the company has deployed its AI-CODC (Cell Outage Detection & Compensation) system, an AI-powered network that automatically adjusts signals from nearby base stations to compensate for any service disruptions.
