Dusit Thani Appoints Chanin Donavanik as Group CEO as Suphajee Suthumpun Joins Thai Government
Brickinfo News Agency – Dusit Thani Public Company Limited (DUSIT) has appointed Chanin Donavanik as its new Group Chief Executive Officer. The appointment follows the early retirement of the previous CEO, Suphajee Suthumpun, who has accepted a position as Thailand’s Minister of Commerce in the new government led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Donavanik, who has been serving as the Acting Chairman of the Board, will oversee the transition to ensure operational stability and continuity for the company.
The board’s decision to appoint Donavanik, effective as of September 12, 2025, aims to provide stable leadership as the company prepares for its next phase of growth. Donavanik’s immediate focus will be to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the company’s current policies and management structure. The move comes as Suthumpun leaves her role to join the government’s economic team.
Regarding the change, Chanin Donavanik stated, “As a good corporate citizen committed to the benefit of our nation, we are honoured and deeply proud that Ms. Suthumpun has been entrusted with this important role in the government.” He added, “It is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and leadership, and we extend our full support as she devotes herself to serving the nation at this critical juncture, a decision driven by her sense of duty to Thailand.”

Suphajee Suthumpun reflected on her tenure at Dusit, saying, “Over nearly a decade as Dusit’s Group CEO, it has been both an honour and a privilege to help elevate a Thai brand to global recognition, introduce new business lines, and firmly position Dusit Hotels and Resorts as destinations of choice for travellers worldwide.” She also noted that her departure leaves the company on a strong growth trajectory. “I want to assure all stakeholders that what I hand over today is the strongest growth trajectory in Dusit’s history, supported by resilient organisational, business, and financial structures.”
The company confirmed that key projects, including the Dusit Central Park development valued at over THB 46 billion, remain on schedule. Suthumpun expressed confidence in the company’s future, stating that it will continue to thrive under its strong leadership and ongoing initiatives.
