The telecommunications upgrade spans the riverside corridor between Krung Thon Bridge and Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan ahead of the Royal Kathin Ceremony scheduled for November 6, 2026.

Engineering teams have conducted field inspections and signal evaluations across designated public viewing zones, public parks, passenger piers, transport hubs, and temple grounds. To accommodate high-density mobile data demands such as live video streaming, photo sharing, and mobile communication, technical units are utilizing traffic benchmarks from the 2024 procession alongside real-time data gathered from ongoing rehearsals to optimize signal propagation and bandwidth allocation.

Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Network Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, stated that riverfront environments present operational constraints distinct from standard urban settings, citing equipment installation limitations, water-surface signal reflections, and concentrated traffic surges across dispersed gathering points. Ashfaque noted that engineering personnel have tailored coverage solutions specifically for the riverside topography, integrating round-the-clock telemetry from the Business and Network Intelligence Center to calibrate capacity ahead of major rehearsals.

Infrastructure preparations include expanding permanent base-station capacity, positioning mobile Cell-on-Wheel units in heavy-footfall areas, and deploying temporary cell sites where physical installations are restricted. Additional measures involve expanding public WiFi hotspots, recalibrating transmission parameters, and leveraging artificial intelligence automation to monitor crowd density and dynamically balance data loads across active frequencies.

The 2026 Royal Barge Procession serves as part of the royal journey to present Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, commemorating Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s Fourth Cycle Birthday Anniversary. Network monitoring will continue throughout the rehearsal schedule, which comprises ten minor rehearsals and two full-dress rehearsals on October 21 and October 28, leading up to the final ceremony on Friday, November 6, 2026.
