Vietnam President To Lam Meets SCG CEO to Discuss Green Industry and Economic Cooperation

Brickinfo News Agency – SCG President and CEO Thammasak Sethaudom was granted an audience with H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during his official visit to Thailand. The meeting focused on bilateral economic cooperation, regional competitiveness, and industrial investment strategies between Thailand and Vietnam, highlighting collaborative efforts toward establishing sustainable economic growth and advancing green technology initiatives.

During the meeting, H.E. Mr. To Lam recognized SCG’s business operations and investment in Vietnam, which have spanned more than three decades. He noted the company’s role in supporting foundational industries, strengthening local supply chains, and driving the national transition toward a green economy. Additionally, the Vietnamese President stated that SCG serves as a strategic industrial partner capable of contributing to the long-term economic development of Vietnam.

Regarding SCG’s investment strategy, Mr. Thammasak Sethaudom, President and CEO of SCG, stated, “Vietnam is one of SCG’s most important strategic markets. We remain committed to investing and growing alongside the country through our businesses in petrochemicals, building materials, packaging, and sustainability solutions. We also support the development of high value-added industries, resource efficiency through circular economy principles, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions across the industrial sector.”

The discussion further covered opportunities to deepen cooperation in green industries, high value-added products and solutions, logistics, and circular economy initiatives. Both parties emphasized the development of robust supply chains as key drivers for enhancing regional competitiveness and achieving sustainable economic growth.

The meeting took place within the framework of the relationship between Thailand and Vietnam, which has been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The talks reaffirmed the ongoing partnership aimed at supporting Vietnam’s economic and industrial transition toward a sustainable future.
