Daikoku Car Meet

Brickinfo News Agency – British luxury automaker Bentley has officially introduced its latest two-door models, the Continental GT S and the Supersports, to the Japanese market through a series of promotional events across Tokyo. The centerpiece of the launch featured a complete takeover of the iconic Tokyo Tower, which was illuminated in the brand’s signature green color to mark the regional debut of the high-performance vehicles.

The official Japanese debut of the driver-focused Continental GT S took place directly beneath the illuminated structure before an audience of more than 100 VIP guests. The unveiling was supported by the new Supersports model, which served as the design inspiration for the GT S. The event was organized in collaboration with local dealer Cornes Tokyo, highlighting the manufacturer’s long-standing commercial presence in the country.

Before the main event at Tokyo Tower, the Supersports vehicle—the original ‘Pymkhana’ car driven by motorsports athlete Travis Pastrana for the Supersports: FULL SEND film—made several public appearances. The vehicle joined the local automotive community at the famous Daikoku car meet, an informal gathering central to Japanese car culture. To honor local car modification trends, the vehicle was modified with soft green underbody illumination matching its bespoke livery and front wheels.

Bentley also collaborated with Creative Director Mai Ikuzawa to host a public automotive event in Shinjuku, drawing classic, modified, and supercar owners from across the city. The gathering featured a unique version of the Continental GT S sporting an exterior wrap inspired by the Hayabusa Shinkansen, the fastest bullet train service connecting Tokyo to Hakodate. Prior to this event, the train-inspired model was displayed at the Shibuya crossing, where surrounding large-scale LED screens broadcasted promotional footage from the FULL SEND film.

“Japan has always been a strong market for Bentley,” said Dave Hayter, Bentley’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific. “As we continue to explore our more sporting side again, we were honoured to debut the new driver-focused Continental GT S to our most loyal customers with the unique event at the Tokyo Tower in collaboration with Cornes Tokyo. Having the FULL SEND Supersports with us made the occasion even more special, and our coffee and cars party on Friday night in Shinjuku – with Bentley at its heart – showed us that interest in our brand is growing, while we also make new friends.”

Following its promotional tour in Japan, the vehicle is scheduled to return to the United Kingdom to make its British public appearance at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.
