SCGC Receives Nature Positive Stewardship Award from Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment
Brickinfo News Agency – SCG Chemicals (SCGC) has received the Nature Positive Stewardship Award from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment during the Thailand Nature Positive Forum 2026, held under the theme “Driving Business Toward a Nature-Positive Future”.
The forum was co-organized by the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP) and the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO). The award recognizes entities that carry out biodiversity conservation, restoration, and promotion projects in Thailand. Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, presented the award to Dr. Pichet Tangpanyarat, Vice President – Industrial Solutions & Partnership at SCGC.
SCGC conducted a biodiversity baseline assessment in mangrove forest areas under the Premium T-VER carbon credit project in Rayong Province. The initiative applied scientific monitoring to manage ecosystem restoration and documented more than 60 aquatic species listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, including the giant freshwater prawn, mud crab, and chinaman fish.
The company has also participated in broader national biodiversity initiatives through joint efforts with government agencies, academic institutions, and the industrial sector. These activities include contributing to national action plan frameworks, researching biodiversity economy models, and participating in working groups under the Federation of Thai Industries and the Petroleum and Energy Institute.
