Thai Energy Giants B.Grimm and SCG Partner for 247MWp Solar Expansion to Drive National Net-Zero Goals
Brickinfo News Agency – Three of Thailand’s leading energy and industrial players—REPCO NEX, B.Grimm Power, and SCG Cleanergy—have officially launched a joint utility-scale solar project with a total capacity of 247MWp. Spanning across Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, and Saraburi provinces, the initiative is designed to replace fossil fuel dependency with clean energy, providing enough electricity to power approximately 100,000 households. The project is a strategic move to accelerate Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon economy and is expected to significantly reduce national greenhouse gas emissions starting in 2027.
The collaboration leverages the specific strengths of each partner to ensure long-term operational efficiency. REPCO NEX, a subsidiary of SCG Chemicals (SCGC), provides the DRS by REPCO NEX (Digital Reliability Solutions) platform to maintain grid stability and real-time monitoring. SCG Cleanergy oversees the full-cycle development of the clean energy project, while B.Grimm Power (BGRIM) contributes its extensive experience in energy investment and asset management. The facility is projected to cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 200,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent annually.
Mr. Auttapol Sathitmanothum, Chief Executive Officer of SCG Cleanergy, emphasized the environmental impact of the partnership. “This project is a strategic collaboration aimed at maximizing the efficiency of renewable energy management while delivering tangible environmental results. We expect it to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 200,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year,” he stated.
According to Mr. Nopadej Karnasuta, President of Thailand, Malaysia and Energy & Industrial Solutions Business at BGRIM, the project is a vital component of the country’s energy security. “This 247MWp Utility-scale Solar Project marks another significant step for BGRIM in expanding our renewable energy portfolio and supporting Thailand’s 2050 net-zero target,” he said, noting that the partnership with SCG Cleanergy and REPCO NEX ensures the project will operate reliably over its entire lifecycle.
Dr. Pichet Tangpanyarat, Managing Director of REPCO NEX, highlighted the role of technology in modern energy infrastructure. He explained that the company functions as an integrated EPC–O&M (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations & Maintenance) service provider. “Our smart digital solution, DRS by REPCO NEX, provides real-time monitoring to enhance operational stability, efficiency, and safety across the plant’s entire lifecycle,” Dr. Pichet added. The project is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2027, forming a foundation for further renewable energy development in the region.
