True Move H Secures New Spectrum Licenses, Expands Thailand’s Most Extensive Portfolio

Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation’s subsidiary, True Move H Universal Communication, has been granted new spectrum licenses in the 2300 MHz and 1500 MHz bands by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). This acquisition, effective for 15 years from August 4, 2025, significantly expands the company’s spectrum holdings, which now cover a total of eight bands. The move is expected to improve 4G and 5G network performance for True and dtac customers across Thailand, addressing growing data demands and supporting new digital technologies.

The new licenses, which include 70 MHz in the 2300 MHz band and 20 MHz in the 1500 MHz band, position True Move H Universal Communication as the holder of Thailand’s most comprehensive spectrum portfolio. This collection of low, mid, and high bands—700 MHz, 900 MHz, 1500 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 26 GHz—is designed to enable efficient network management and enhance the delivery of mobile services nationwide.

According to the company, these new frequencies will improve the customer experience in three key areas. The wide 70 MHz bandwidth of the 2300 MHz band will support existing 4G services and is ready for future 5G upgrades, which should lead to faster download and upload speeds for activities like streaming and gaming. The 1500 MHz band, when combined with other frequencies through carrier aggregation, is expected to increase network capacity to meet rising mobile data usage. Additionally, both new bands are intended to improve 5G and 4G coverage in both urban and rural areas, aiming to provide more reliable high-speed internet access across the country.

The official license presentation ceremony took place at the NBTC office. Clinical Professor Dr. Sarana Boonbaichaiyapruck, the NBTC Chairman, presented the licenses to representatives from True Corporation, including Mr. Chakkrit Urairat, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, and Mr. Narupon Rattanasamaharn, Head of the Regulatory and Government Relations Division. Also in attendance were Mr. Trairat Viriyasirikul, NBTC Deputy Secretary-General, and Mr. Sutisak Tantayotin, NBTC Deputy Secretary-General for Telecommunications.

This strategic expansion of True Corporation’s spectrum resources is part of its ongoing investment in Thailand’s digital infrastructure. The company states that the new spectrum will help support the development of new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), which are becoming increasingly integral to daily life and the country’s digital economy.
