Sabaton to Release New Album “Legends” on October 17

Brickinfo News Agency – Sabaton, the Swedish power metal band, has announced their 11th studio album, LEGENDS, set for release on October 17 via Better Noise Music. The album will feature 11 tracks that explore historical figures such as Joan of Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, and Miyamoto Musashi. To coincide with the announcement, the band released two new singles from the album on July 25: “The Duelist” and “Lightning at the Gates.”

LEGENDS marks the band’s first album where all members — Joakim Brodén (vocals), Pär Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar), and Hannes Van Dahl (drums) — contributed to the songwriting process. The album aims to combine historical narratives with melodic guitar riffs and choruses, maintaining Sabaton’s focus on history.

Bassist Pär Sundström commented on the album, stating, “We can finally announce that our 11th studio album LEGENDS is coming out on October 17th! 11 tracks that cover 11 iconic legendary stories. This time we look further back in history than we have been the past few years, going to times that I think are very exciting. As someone who’s always been into the history of the Middle Ages, knights and the legends of old, it felt incredible to finally bring those stories into the SABATON universe.”

The album will be available in various physical formats, including CD, 2 CD digibook, 2 CD earbook, and 11 unique vinyl editions. A limited box set will also be available, including an exclusive vinyl color, the 2 CD earbook, and a colored cassette.

Singer Joakim Brodén highlighted the connection to their previous work, stating, “Legends have always been woven into our music, and the HEROES album is the perfect example of that! I’m incredibly proud of HEROES and everything it stands for, so LEGENDS is just a natural next step. It’s like the story continues but goes way back in time. We’re excited to finally be taking our listeners on a new journey! Here’s to another chapter in Sabaton’s story!”

The band continued their collaboration with graphic artist Peter Sallai for the album artwork and producer Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge Studios for the sound production. Previously released tracks from LEGENDS include “Hordes of Khan” (June 6), which has over 3.5 million streams, and “Templars” (April 25), with over 14 million streams.
