Thailand Denies Shelling Preah Vihear Temple, Calls Cambodian Claims “Distortion of Facts”

On July 25, 2025, Major General Winthai Suvaree, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, stated at the Army Headquarters that Cambodian authorities had sent a letter to UNESCO, alleging that Thai military operations, supported by artillery, caused damage to the ancient temple.

They emphasized that Preah Vihear Temple is not within the trajectory of Thai weapons fire.
