Suphachai Chearavanont’s “Gratitude” Wins Best Moral Song at Thailand Moral Awards 2024
Brickinfo News Agency – The song “Gratitude,” a component of the True Little Monk Project, received the Best Moral Song of the Year award at the Thailand Moral Awards 2024. Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group and Chair of the Board of Directors at True Corporation Plc, was recognized as the lyricist of the song, which highlights moral principles and aligns with CP Group’s core values. The awards ceremony, hosted by the Center For Morality Promotion (CMP) (Public Organization) on July 2, 2025, in Bangkok, aimed to honor individuals and organizations contributing to moral values in Thai society.
Air Chief Marshal Chalit Pukbhasuk, a Privy Councillor, presented the award. The song “Gratitude” was inspired by Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont’s personal experiences. He stated, “It is a deep honor to have played a small part in promoting goodness in society through this song.” He elaborated that the inspiration for the song stemmed from his parents, particularly his mother, and served as a tribute to her love and teachings. Mr. Chearavanont noted that he “simply wrote from the heart,” with a team handling the production and arrangement.
Mr. Chearavanont emphasized the significance of gratitude, describing it as “humanity’s original and truest form of love” and a foundation for compassion and empathy. He believes that instilling this value in children early can foster gratitude towards their communities, society, and the world. He added that “music is a medium that touches the heart deeply,” and a morally rich song can “sow seeds of goodness in the hearts of listeners in a lasting way.” He shared that the song was inspired by his experience ordaining as a monk for his mother and inviting his son to join the novice monkhood, which revealed “the power of youth to learn and grow when given both secular and spiritual opportunities.”
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Chearavanont addressed the need for “moral media” in a world increasingly driven by economics, technology, and AI. He suggested that values-based messages should be integrated into digital platforms to build emotional foundations and cultivate mindfulness and wisdom. He expressed his belief that a balanced approach, where digital media delivers moral messages alongside entertainment, can drive sustainable societal change. He extended his gratitude to those involved in moral media initiatives, the judging committee, and the Center For Morality Promotion for organizing the event, hoping for continued collaboration in building a morally rooted society.
The Thailand Moral Awards 2024 presented a total of 166 awards across three categories: media, individual, and community and organization. Other companies under the Charoen Pokphand Group also received recognition, including True CJ Creations Co., Ltd. for Best Drama for “Good Doctor: The Healing Heart,” and CP ALL Public Company Limited for Best Advertisement for its Father’s Day commercial “What’s Your Best Memory?” CP ALL also received an honorable mention for “The Spirit of a Teacher.”
