Thailand Records 7.51 Billion Baht From 423 Foreign Film Productions in First Nine Months of 2026

Brickinfo News Agency – Thailand generated 7,510 million baht in revenue from 423 foreign film productions during the first nine months of 2026, setting a new historical record, government deputy spokesperson Ploytalay Laksameesaengchan announced on Sunday.

The production data, spanning January to September 2026, reflects steady growth supported by Thailand’s diverse filming locations, skilled local production crews, large-scale production infrastructure, and government incentive programs. Key financial mechanisms include the Thailand Film Office (TFO) cash rebate of up to 30 percent, along with additional incentives tied to hiring Thai personnel, filming in secondary provinces, and utilizing domestic post-production services.

The top 10 foreign production markets by expenditure in Thailand during this period are:

  1. United States – 38 productions, generating 2,379 million baht
  2. United Kingdom – 27 productions, generating 1,679 million baht
  3. Finland – 1 production, generating 448 million baht
  4. Hong Kong SAR – 18 productions, generating 382 million baht
  5. Germany – 15 productions, generating 379 million baht
  6. India – 44 productions, generating 341 million baht
  7. Spain – 3 productions, generating 336 million baht
  8. China – 52 productions, generating 253.23 million baht
  9. Singapore – 24 productions, generating 253.20 million baht
  10. France – 17 productions, generating 185 million baht

China recorded the highest number of film projects with 52 productions, while the United States contributed the largest share in total investment value.

The Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, projects that international film crews will continue to arrive throughout the fourth quarter of 2026. Official estimates forecast total annual production spending to reach between 8,000 million and 10,000 million baht by the end of the year.
