Brickinfo News Agency – The Royal Thai Army’s First Army Area Command has issued a statement clarifying a recent incident on the Thai-Cambodian border. The incident involved Cambodian personnel causing a disturbance after Thai soldiers installed a temporary barbed-wire fence in Sa Kaeo province. The First Army Area Command stated the fence was a temporary security measure for a provincial delegation and was not intended to provoke conflict.

On August 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM, the Burapha Force, under the First Army Area Command, deployed the temporary fence in the Ban Nong Chan area of Sa Kaeo’s Kok Sung district. According to the statement, the action was taken to ensure the safety of a provincial committee that was surveying civilian land. This measure was a temporary security precaution to delineate the border area and was carried out in accordance with standard security protocols.

Following the disturbance caused by the Cambodian side, the Burapha Force immediately dispatched personnel to explain the purpose of the temporary fence. The goal was to prevent misunderstanding and de-escalate the situation. The Thai military confirmed that once the provincial committee completes its land survey, the fence will be removed, and the area will be restored to its previous condition.

The First Army Area Command emphasized that the incident was a misunderstanding on the part of the Cambodian side. Thai forces handled the situation with caution and within the framework of international law and bilateral relations to prevent escalation and maintain peace and order along the border.
