Thai Telecom Giant AIS Partners with ReelShort to Launch Vertical Drama Streaming for Mobile Users

Brickinfo News Agency – AIS, Thailand’s leading mobile operator, has announced a strategic partnership with ReelShort, a global platform specializing in vertical short-dramas, to capture the growing demand for mobile-first entertainment in the Thai market. The collaboration introduces a “5G ReelShort” subscription package, offering VIP access to over 2,700 episodes of short-form content at a significantly reduced monthly rate for postpaid and prepaid customers in Thailand.

The partnership focuses on delivering “short, fast, and fun” content designed specifically for modern digital lifestyles, where consumers often view media during commutes or brief breaks. ReelShort provides a library of vertical programs featuring genres such as romance, CEO-themed narratives, and high-impact dramas, many of which include Thai dubbing and subtitles. Popular titles on the platform, such as Bound By Honor and True Heiress vs. Fake Queen Bee, have already garnered hundreds of millions of views globally.

Mr. Lertchai Kodsup, Chief Mobile Business Officer of AIS, stated that the partnership reflects the company’s direction in building a digital ecosystem that integrates high-quality network infrastructure with tailored content. “We believe that having access to content that genuinely suits our customers is just as important to a satisfying digital experience nowadays as having a high-quality internet connection,” said Mr. Lertchai. He emphasized that the deal provides customers with affordable access to top-notch content aligned with contemporary lifestyles that demand quick, simple-to-watch entertainment.

Mr. Joey Jia, CEO of Crazy Maple Studio, the parent company of ReelShort, highlighted the strategic importance of the Thai market within the broader Southeast Asian region. “Southeast Asia is one of the most exciting and competitive mobile entertainment markets globally. Launching with a true industry powerhouse like AIS allows us to bring premium, mobile-first storytelling to millions of Thai consumers,” Jia noted, adding that this launch serves as the beginning of the platform’s regional expansion strategy.

Under the new agreement, AIS customers can access the full ReelShort library without advertisements for 39 THB per month, a substantial discount from the regular price of 599 THB. The service aims to leverage AIS 5G connectivity to ensure a seamless streaming experience. This move strengthens the position of AIS as a digital content provider while catering to the specific viewing habits of mobile users who prefer vertical, episodic content over traditional long-form media.
