Brickinfo News Agency – The Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT) hosted the “Super AI Engineer: The 5th National AI Exhibition” on October 22–23, 2025, at Central Rama 9. The two-day event marked the 5th anniversary of the Super AI Engineer program and the 10th anniversary of AIAT, serving as a major gathering for the country’s AI workforce and showcasing the latest innovations developed by program participants across Thailand. The exhibition highlighted the program’s success in cultivating high-skilled talent and driving the development of Thailand’s AI ecosystem over the past half-decade.
The exhibition’s opening ceremony included a special video address from Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office. The Minister emphasized the program’s vital role in national development, stating, “The Super AI Engineer program is a project that I have closely followed and supported since my time as Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. I believe this initiative plays a crucial role in developing high-skilled AI talent, nurturing innovators, engineers, and researchers in artificial intelligence — laying a solid foundation for national development and supporting advanced industries. This will ultimately drive the creation of a new economy and attract substantial investment.”
Dr. Rattapoom Tuchinda, Deputy Director of the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B), underscored the importance of developing a highly skilled AI workforce. He noted that the program’s success reflects strong support from society and aligns closely with PMU-B’s mission to develop advanced human resources and cutting-edge research to strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness on the global stage. PMU-B has supported the Super AI Engineer program since its first year, and in 2025, the program produced a large number of AI engineers and AI tool users, directly addressing the national shortage of AI professionals.
Dr. Thepchai Supnithi, President of the Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT), affirmed the strategic focus on human capital development. “Developing high-quality AI talent is a crucial foundation for transforming the country and fully entering the AI era,” he stated. “Graduates of the Super AI Engineer program have played a key role in driving domestic industries and elevating public knowledge and skills. It’s not just about creating AI tools — it’s about empowering people to use those tools effectively. That’s why we focus on building a human capital development ecosystem.”
The Super AI Engineer Season 5 project, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nongnuch Ketui, Head of the Project and First Vice President of AIAT, focused on three key tracks: AI Innovator (AI tool utilization), AI Engineer (AI model building), and AI Researcher (new knowledge creation). The program saw 12,718 registered participants, with 4,576 in the Innovator track, 3,675 in the Engineer track, and 1,003 in the Researcher track. After intensive incubation, 1,304, 368, and 28 participants, respectively, advanced through the three groups. The collaboration included regional network coordination centers, innovation incubation agencies, and over 50 government and private sector organizations.
The latest season produced more than 210 innovation projects from the AI Innovator track, including over 100 AI models, platforms, and applications demonstrated in real industry settings. The AI Engineer track is currently incubating 3–5 AI Startup teams, while the AI Researcher track is developing academic papers for international publication. The two-day event also featured an award ceremony for outstanding participants, an AI Researcher & AI Engineer Meetup presenting research, and a Startup Pitching session where alumni teams competed. The winning startup, Nerth.ai, received an opportunity to connect with venture capitalists.
