AIS and Bangkok Land Partner to Transform Muang Thong Thani Into Smart Connected City
Brickinfo News Agency – AIS and Bangkok Land Public Company Limited have formed a strategic partnership to deploy 5G networks, home broadband services, and enterprise digital infrastructure across more than 4,000 rai of Muang Thong Thani. The project, titled “Muang Thong NEXT: The Smart & Connected City,” aims to transform the area into a model smart economic district by integrating advanced digital infrastructure across residential, commercial, educational, and entertainment sectors.
Under this collaboration, AIS will upgrade the existing network infrastructure in the district to 5G-Advanced using carrier aggregation technology. This upgrade is intended to deliver higher speeds and lower latency to handle high-density usage during major exhibitions and concerts at IMPACT venues. Additionally, the deployment will include the integration of the WiFi 7 wireless standard through AIS 3BB Fibre3 to support residential smart homes, remote working, and digital public services.
For commercial operations within the district, the partnership introduces digital solutions including sovereign cloud, data center management, and AI-driven systems. The comprehensive infrastructure will lay the groundwork for a centralized Smart City Data Platform and Digital Twin system. These digital tools will aggregate real-time data across commercial, residential, and public spaces to assist city administrators in managing traffic flow, energy consumption, and overall public safety.

Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Land Public Company Limited, stated that the development focuses on enabling the entire city area to operate more efficiently through connected systems. He noted that technologies such as AI-powered CCTV, smart traffic management systems, and integrated data platforms are being implemented to improve safety and operational capacity, particularly when managing large crowds during events.
Mr. Pratthana Leelapanang, Chief Executive Officer of AIS, explained that the company is providing the core intelligent digital infrastructure to support the city’s growth. He emphasized that the initiative focuses on delivering practical functionality across the district, ranging from cloud and AI solutions for businesses to smart parking, virtual classrooms, and enhanced cybersecurity systems designed to facilitate everyday operations for residents and visitors.
The initiative transforms Muang Thong Thani from an exhibition and event destination into a fully connected urban hub. The digital management systems, which also encompass smart meters, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and digital payment networks, will be fully integrated to support long-term urban development and economic growth in Nonthaburi Province.
