James Alyn Wee Announced as Opening Act for SIRUP’s 2026 Bangkok Concert Following “I’m Blessed” Collaboration
Brickinfo News Agency – James Alyn Wee has been officially confirmed as the opening act for Japanese neo-soul artist SIRUP at his upcoming “SIRUP ASIA TOUR TURN THE PAGE IN ASIA 2026” concert in Bangkok. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at LIDO CONNECT HALL 2. This announcement follows their previous musical partnership and marks a major performance crossover between the Thai-Singaporean pop-rock artist and the prominent Japanese musician known for his signature blend of vocals and rap.
The connection between the two musicians stems from their mutual artistic appreciation, which previously resulted in the 2024 collaborative track “I’m Blessed.” James Alyn Wee shared the background of their relationship, noting that he first discovered SIRUP through a friend’s recommendation and deeply connected with his music, particularly the track “Loop.” He explained that SIRUP’s vocal tone, production, and musical vibe inspired his own creative process, leading to shared ideas and communication during the production of their joint track.
For the upcoming Bangkok concert, James Alyn Wee and SIRUP are preparing a live performance of “I’m Blessed” to showcase their collaborative chemistry on stage, alongside additional minor elements prepared specifically for the audience on the concert day. Expressing his views on the current music industry landscape, James Alyn Wee highlighted the growing global recognition of Asian artists releasing English-language tracks, stating that he feels honored to participate in this creative journey and to help elevate international music produced by Asian talent for a global audience. He also noted that working with a Japanese artist of SIRUP’s caliber serves as an invaluable experience for his ongoing musical development.
In addition to the concert preparations, James Alyn Wee revealed plans for the upcoming release of his new international single titled “My Friend?” The song explores themes of emotional distance between two individuals who share a close physical space but remain separate due to the limitations of a friendship label. Looking toward the future, the artist also indicated that further collaborative music projects between himself and SIRUP may be expected in the near future.
