Real Friends to Play First Bangkok Show This August as Part of Southeast Asia Tour
Brickinfo News Agency – American emo/pop-punk band Real Friends is scheduled to perform in Bangkok this August, marking their first live appearance in the city. The show is part of their larger Southeast Asia Tour 2025, which includes six headline dates across Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Regional promoter Collective Touring is bringing the band to the region, with local artists supporting each stop. In Bangkok, local act Hut Boy will open the show.
Real Friends, formed in Tinley Park, Illinois, in 2010, have established themselves in the modern emo and pop-punk genres, recognized for their emotionally charged lyrics and guitar-driven sound. The band has accumulated over 150 million streams and maintains a global following for their songwriting.
This tour marks the band’s first run through Southeast Asia with their current frontman, Cody Muraro, who joined in 2020. The quintet, consisting of Muraro, Dave Knox (guitar), Kyle Fasel (bass/lyrics), Eric Haines (guitar), and Brian Blake (drums), will feature tracks from their 2024 album, Blue Hour. The album was self-released under their independent label, Midwest Trash.
Bassist and lyricist Kyle Fasel commented on the album, stating, “Blue Hour is our most personal work to date. We want these songs to connect with people in whatever moment they’re in.” The record explores themes of grief and growth, with songs such as “Waiting Room,” which addresses the loss of a loved one, and “Our Love Was Like a Sad Song,” offering a reflection on mental health and healing.

The Southeast Asia Tour 2025 dates are as follows: August 8 in Bali, Indonesia; August 9 in Jakarta, Indonesia; August 10 in Singapore; August 12 in Bangkok, Thailand (at Mr. Fox Livehouse); August 13 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and August 15 in Manila, Philippines. Collective Touring, which previously produced JISOO’s “Lights, Love, Action!” in Manila, continues to bring various international acts to the region.
