Brickinfo News Agency – Worldwide AI-optimized infrastructure as a service (IaaS) spending is projected to increase by 96% through 2026 to reach $42 billion, driven by sustained demand for large language model (LLM) training and enterprise operationalization of AI across workflows, according to research firm Gartner, Inc.

In Thailand, organizational spending on AI-optimized IaaS is forecast to exceed THB 1.8 billion in 2026, marking a 207.3% surge from 2025. Local enterprise spending is expected to expand further to nearly THB 3.2 billion in 2027 as businesses integrate AI capabilities directly into applications and day-to-day operations. Globally, the overall AI-optimized IaaS market is projected to maintain strong momentum, rising by 56.5% in 2027 to reach $66 billion.

Table 1: Spending on Infrastructure as a Service, Worldwide, 2025-2027 (Millions of Dollars)

A key structural shift in AI computing is the transition toward inference workloads surpassing training workloads in 2026. Spending on inference is estimated to reach $23.3 billion globally, exceeding the $19 billion allocated to model training. Inference workloads are projected to account for 55% of all AI-optimized IaaS spending in 2026 and rise to 59% in 2027, driven in part by the compute requirements of agentic AI execution.

Hardeep Singh, Senior Principal Research Analyst at Gartner, stated that organizations are shifting focus from model development to production-scale deployment. He noted that fine-tuned and domain-specific models (DSMs) are increasingly integrated into customer-facing and operational systems, requiring continuous, real-time execution rather than periodic training. This operational shift is altering cloud consumption patterns and establishing steady demand for AI-optimized infrastructure.

Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation, in collaboration with the CU Social Design Lab at Chulalongkorn University and The Cloud, has developed the Routes to Roots initiative using anonymized mobile network mobility data to analyze traveler movement patterns across Thailand, earning the Creative Data Award at the Creative Excellence Awards 2026 hosted by the Creative Economy Agency (CEA).

The initiative addresses recent shifts in the tourism sector, where official statistics from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports indicated a 3.05% decrease in tourist arrivals compared to the previous year. The project applies telecom data analytics to address structural challenges in tourism management, shifting focus toward equitable economic distribution and local community development across secondary destinations.

According to On-Uma Vattanasuk, Head of GCEO Strategic Agenda and Employee Communication at True Corporation Plc., telecommunications data assets offer significant utility for evidence-based public planning. The initiative analyzed aggregated mobility data to assist policymakers, researchers, and local communities in identifying travel behaviors and supporting regional economic strategies.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattapong Punnoi, Deputy Director of the CU Social Design Lab and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University, stated that researchers processed over 500 million trips from mobility data to move beyond conventional provincial boundaries. The analysis mapped actual travel corridors, identifying 21 high-potential tourism clusters and formulating six pilot clusters designed to align local cultural assets with sustainable travel planning.

The project translated analytical findings into actionable regional itineraries across six pilot clusters covering various regions of Thailand. Organized under the concept of evidence-based tourism development, the framework provides structured data models to assist government agencies and private stakeholders in decentralizing visitor traffic, distributing revenue, and managing tourism infrastructure effectively.

Brickinfo News Agency – Thai-German singer and rapper Alisa Janine has teamed up with artist Freeline-B and production team Vibe88 to release a new Thai-language single titled “Yhud Di (Stop It)”, blending hip-hop, electronic music, and trap elements under a special collaboration project approved by her UK-based label, Riverman London.

Janine, who initially gained widespread recognition as the first semifinalist of Thailand’s Got Talent Season 6 after receiving the Golden Buzzer from Nitipong Hornak, has spent most of her recent music career releasing English and German material. While her previous Thai single was “Okay Yoo,” this latest release marks a return to Thai-language song and rapping, focusing on an upbeat, playful, and confident delivery rather than conventional pop themes.

The production collective Vibe88 was formed by Freeline-B, Fearless-Kidd, and XilliX (XY) following their collaborative work on “Special Moment” for Siam Songkran 2026. The members bring diverse production backgrounds: Freeline-B has been active in hip-hop since 2003 and electronic DJing since 2014; Fearless-Kidd operates YP Studio 87 with experience ranging from rock and pop to film scoring and musical theatre; and XilliX is a touring DJ and producer with appearances at major regional festivals, including EDC Thailand and the 808 Festival.

Alongside her music career, Janine serves as the school licensee and administrator at Saint Helier-Brelade International School, which operates under the British National Curriculum. Having previously completed teaching internships across kindergarten, primary, and secondary education levels, Janine continues to manage educational administration while simultaneously maintaining an active music career.

Following the release of “Yhud Di (Stop It)”, Janine is scheduled to resume her international releases with upcoming English-language music under Riverman London.

Brickinfo News Agency – ONYX Hospitality Group has deployed AIS Cloud, a locally operated hyperscale cloud platform powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and managed by AIS Business, to modernize its core digital infrastructure and support operational expansion across the Asia-Pacific region.

The cloud deployment links ONYX Hospitality Group’s headquarters with its portfolio of properties, which includes brands such as Amari, OZO, Shama, and Oriental Residence. The system centralizes high-volume operational workflows, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and data analytics while providing local data governance and managed support. This digital transformation framework is designed to facilitate the group’s planned portfolio expansion from more than 45 properties to over 70 properties by 2030.

As part of this technology initiative, the hospitality management firm is constructing a centralized enterprise data platform. This architecture consolidates guest reservations and operational records into a cloud-based data warehouse, integrating directly with its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to process customer data and support target marketing initiatives.

Phiphat Khanonwet, Head of Information Technology at ONYX Hospitality Group, stated that establishing a stable technological foundation is necessary to scale operations, improve service delivery, and maintain operational efficiency as customer requirements evolve across regional markets.

Brickinfo News Agency – VGI Public Company Limited recorded revenue from sales and services of THB 1,140 million and a net profit of THB 261 million for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026/27. The financial performance was supported by revenue expansion in digital services and distribution segments, offsetting lower advertising revenue amid challenging economic conditions.

The advertising business generated THB 444 million from transit and office media during the quarter. The overall media utilization rate decreased to 49.1% from 51.0% in the same period last year, reflecting lower advertising demand.

The digital services business generated THB 433 million in revenue, driven by online financial and insurance platform Rabbit Care and nano-finance provider Rabbit Cash. Bangkok Smartcard System, operator of the Rabbit Card, is conducting a feasibility study on EMV contactless card technology to support the government's common ticketing policy and fare structure.

The distribution business generated THB 263 million in revenue. Subsidiary Rabbit Bytes Co., Ltd. distributed technology, lifestyle, and snack products using BTS Group media and logistics networks. Retail operator Super Turtle operated 36 TURTLE shops, an increase of 8 shops from the previous year, and plans to pilot new retail outlets at Bangchak gas stations.

On July 17, 2026, VGI shareholders approved offsetting all retained losses to allow for potential future dividend payments. As of the end of the quarter, VGI held THB 21 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and current financial assets, accounting for 52% of total assets.

Brickinfo News Agency – The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has held discussions with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangkok and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Bangkok to support the continued expansion of Japanese business operations in Thailand. Data from 2021 to the first half of 2026 shows that Japanese investors submitted 1,380 applications for investment promotion, representing a total value of over 396 billion baht. The latest survey on Japanese companies operating in Thailand highlights an ongoing effort to modernize production bases through machinery upgrades, efficiency improvements, and digital transformation to maintain competitiveness in global trade.

During a meeting on August 13, 2026, Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the BOI, met with Ichiro Abe, President of JETRO Bangkok and Chief Representative for South East Asia, alongside Hiroyasu Kondo, President of JCC Bangkok. The delegates presented the results of the Business Sentiment Survey of Japanese Corporations in Thailand for the first half of 2026, which surveyed 504 enterprises across manufacturing and service sectors. The survey reported a Diffusion Index (DI) of -6 for the first half of 2026, down from 0 in the second half of 2025, driven by rising raw material prices and transportation costs tied to Middle East tensions. However, demand in the semiconductor industry and investment in plant and equipment remained strong, with the DI expected to stabilize in the second half of 2026 due to continuous expansion in the electronics and digital sectors.

Regarding investment plans for 2026, 23 percent of surveyed Japanese firms plan to increase capital expenditure, while 48 percent intend to maintain current levels. Their investment focus is centered on enhancing existing production facilities, with 59 percent planning to replace machinery, 31 percent aiming to improve machinery efficiency, and 22 percent investing in digital transformation. These initiatives align with the BOI's Smart and Sustainable Industry measure, under which Japanese-owned projects submitted over 400 applications valued at more than 55 billion baht between 2023 and the first half of 2026. These applications cover machine replacements, energy conservation, environmental reduction measures, digital technology integration, automation, and robotics.

Survey responses also identified priority support areas expected from the Thai government. Japanese investors highlighted tax and financial support measures (29 percent), domestic market promotion (26 percent), and the expansion of third-country markets through Free Trade Agreements (24 percent). Concerning global trade policy uncertainty, 42 percent of respondents reported minimal impact from US trade tax policy changes, while 39 percent experienced moderate impact, leading firms to emphasize risk diversification and new market entry. Additional discussion topics included supporting the transition to clean energy via direct power purchase agreements (Direct PPA) and Utility Green Tariff (UGT) mechanisms, high-skilled workforce development under the Skill Bridge program, capital market listings through the BOI to IPO initiative, and mitigating the effects of the Global Minimum Tax via Qualified Refundable Tax Credits (QRTC).

"Japan has long been one of Thailand's vital economic and investment partners, playing a key role in developing the country's industrial base. Moving forward, the focus is not only on maintaining existing investments but also supporting transition into higher value-added activities. This involves utilizing technology and innovation to boost efficiency, developing human resources, and adapting to sustainable manufacturing practices," stated Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the BOI. He added that the BOI remains committed to collaborating with JETRO, JCC, and the Japanese business sector to strengthen long-term economic cooperation.

Brickinfo News Agency – AI-generated inferences will become the primary source of privacy incidents by 2029, surpassing traditional exposures of personally identifiable information (PII), according to research from Gartner, Inc. As organizations minimize stored personal data due to compliance and operational costs, advancements in generative AI and machine learning enable threat actors to reconstruct sensitive personal attributes—such as health status and behavioral patterns—from anonymized or aggregated datasets.

Bart Willemsen, VP Analyst at Gartner, highlighted a fundamental transition from data exposure to insight exposure. Traditional cybersecurity and privacy controls historically prioritized raw personal data protection; however, modern machine learning algorithms can derive deeply sensitive conclusions without triggering conventional security breaches. These inference attacks exploit seemingly harmless information, making unauthorized profile generation harder to detect, explain, and mitigate using legacy mechanisms.

This evolving threat landscape requires Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and privacy executives to re-evaluate overall data security strategies. Security leaders must move beyond standard data protection to govern how artificial intelligence systems compile, utilize, and act on derived insights. Reflecting this operational pivot, corporate spending on data integrity protections is projected to match investments in data confidentiality by 2028 as organizations work to prevent biased, inaccurate, or unauthorized profiling.

To effectively mitigate these emerging vulnerabilities, security leaders are advised to embed AI governance directly into corporate privacy programs and incorporate privacy-by-design frameworks throughout model development. Deploying privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs)—such as differential privacy, synthetic data, and privacy-aware machine learning—can significantly reduce re-identification risks while maintaining data usability.

Organizations are also urged to enforce strict data minimization and lifecycle controls to eliminate excessive information that could be leveraged in inference-based attacks. Combining enhanced cybersecurity capabilities for anomaly detection with clear transparency protocols—including mandatory human oversight for sensitive automated decisions—will be critical as AI continues to transform the boundaries of enterprise privacy management.

Brickinfo News Agency – Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS) reported its financial performance for the second quarter of 2026, generating total revenue of 56,497 million baht and a net profit of 13,716 million baht. The company maintained its performance in line with guidance despite global geopolitical conflicts and economic pressures that dampened purchasing power prior to a recovery in June.

In the Mobile Business, total subscribers reached 47.1 million, while 5G users expanded to 19.7 million, representing a quarterly gain of 1.2 million subscribers. The company maintained identity verification protocols for new SIM registrations. Mobile service revenue grew 6% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the Fixed Broadband Business (AIS 3BB FIBRE3) maintained 5.3 million subscribers, recording a revenue growth of 7.9% year-on-year through value-based packages and home internet products.

The Enterprise Business grew 2.8% year-on-year, driven by data networks, cloud services, and data center operations as enterprise clients adjusted spending amid economic uncertainty. In the Retail Business, revenue rose 1% quarter-on-quarter, supported by omnichannel platforms, a three-hour delivery option in Bangkok, and the LINK UP accessory line.

In entertainment offerings, AIS introduced the PLAY ALL package and secured a four-year broadcasting agreement for UEFA football competitions. Additionally, the Digital Financial Services Business partnered with Krungthai Bank and OR to form CLICX, a virtual bank in Thailand.

Operational efficiency and cost management helped offset higher energy costs, resulting in core service revenue and EBITDA growth that exceeded targets. AIS reaffirmed its full-year guidance for core service revenue growth at 3–5% and EBITDA growth at 2–4%, under a capital expenditure budget of 30,000–35,000 million baht for 2026.

Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has received market recognition in the Extel 2026 Asia Executive Team (ex-Japan/ANZ) survey and the 2025 Investment Analysts Association (IAA) Awards, reflecting a three-year investor relations strategy focused on transparency during its telecom amalgamation. The company's investor relations approach prioritized operational context and strategic transparency over standard performance summaries following the 2023 merger.

According to Naureen Quayum, Head of Investor Relations at True Corporation, the team shifted focus toward core integration themes and measurable milestones rather than basic data disclosures. In the second quarter of 2026, under Group Chief Executive Sigve Brekke and Chief Financial Officer Nakul Sehgal, True Corporation reported its sixth consecutive quarter of profitability, with Net Profit After Tax reaching THB 6.6 billion and EBITDA rising 13.5% year-on-year to THB 28.3 billion. The Board of Directors subsequently approved an interim dividend of THB 0.15 per share.

During periods when integration milestones experienced delays, the investor relations team addressed market expectation changes directly to maintain reporting consistency. Quayum stated that providing plain-language explanations during setbacks served as a core principle to maintain corporate credibility. The team also utilized investor feedback to re-evaluate internal assumptions and disclosures, functioning as a continuous feedback mechanism between executive leadership and capital markets.

In the sell-side results of the Extel 2026 Asia Executive Team survey, Quayum was ranked No. 2 among IR professionals in Asia's telecommunications sector (ex-Japan) and No. 3 in Thailand. True Corporation also secured awards across the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Investor Relations categories at the 2025 IAA Awards for Listed Companies. Quayum noted that while generative AI tools now automate balance sheet summaries and data analysis, human judgment and direct executive accountability remain essential for explaining complex strategic decisions to the market.
